Your Final Exam

My dear Weblings - I apologize for not being there in person - bronchitis has a way of putting you in your place.

In my absence, I want to make sure the directions for your final exams are clear!  Your initial directions are located on my desk.  I would like for you to make the following adjustments to these directions:

Since our printer is out of ink,  make the following adjustments to saving the materials associated with your final exam:

  1. Create a folder, on your desktop, LABELED - Your full name - final exam.  An example of this would be CarmenRhodes - final exam.  This is the only folder you need to place items in - I will be looking a folder with this name only.  Rename the folder NOW if you have already created one.  IF I can't find THIS folder, you will not have a final exam to grade!

  2.  Place all your reflection pieces and reflections in THIS ONE FOLDER.  If you are reflecting on a Google website that can't be placed “in the folder" - send the link of the homepage of the website you are referring to by copying the link into a Word document - saving the word document as "reflective piece #? - title of website".  Place this Word document in your final exam folder.

  3.  If you are using your "group movie" as one of your reflective pieces, have ONE member of your group place the movie in the folder labeled "Final Exam movies"-it should be located inside the final exam folder listed at the bottom of the blog.  The drive does not have enough space for 18 copies of the same movie - one is enough.  It is YOUR responsibility, though, to ensure it is there - check to make sure for yourself.  The location of the folder is below.

  4. Email your reflections to my GTCHS email address as an attachment. My email address is crhodes@gtchs.org. If you are not sure how to accomplish this task, ask a neighbor.  Use whatever email address you wish to send - your web design Gmail, your personal Gmail - whatever you wish - but make sure it is sent.  Check the sent email box after sending each or the group to verify that they are sent.

5.   Lastly, place this final exam folder on the data drive - Where you may ask?  I am hoping there will be a "FExam - Spring 2009 - Web Design" folder on the data drive.  The location of the folder is below.

Data$ -->Student Work -->Rhodes -->Web Development -->FExam-Spring 2009-Web Design.

If you have any additional questions, I will try to be online available for chat through our web development Gmail accounts.  If I do not respond immediately, be patient.

I hope all of you have a wonderful summer.  Take care and be SAFE!  I will see you all in the fall!

How's it Going???

**Important information** - We will have class on Friday - normal odd schedule - as field day/yearbook day has been postponed - So your film will be due on Friday, May 15 as originally scheduled.

So - how's it really going?  As we near the due date, every one should be involved in the process of finishing your masterpiece.  There are many things that still need to be accomplished.  As I have said before, this is a GROUP project - not a "ONE PERSON editing/completing the project" project.  Your group members MUST share all responsibilities.  Your group will be graded on this aspect.  I will not be Boldresponsible for ensuring this happens - you will as group members.

So I will better understand which group member is supposed to be accomplishing what task, answer the questions below.  Please number each answer so it corresponds to its appropriate question.  You will be graded on your responses not just for the fact that you responded to the blog - I would like these responses individually.

1.     At this point, who in your group is ensuring that each group member has a task to accomplish?

2.   Is your filming complete?  Are there any additional scenes that need to be filmed?

3.   Who is editing your film?

4.   Who is gathering music?

5.    Who is working on the titles/credits/transition title slides?

6.   Who is working on special effects?

7.    Is every member of your group in at least one scene of decent length?  If not, who is missing and why?  (Each member MUST be in at least one scene)

8.   Does your film make sense?  Even if the film is "supposed" to be funny, it needs to have a storyline of some sort – as not to lose audience interest.

9.   What type of costumes, background sets or props has your group used?

10. Do you really believe that this film is of advanced quality?  Why?

One of the requirements on the rubric is the use of props and background sets - for a most realistic feel - please make sure this is given the utmost importance.

I appreciate the time you are taking to answer this blog thoroughly - it will count as two class assignments - so please make sure you answer all the questions asked.   The blog needs to be answered on Wednesday, May 13 to receive full credit.  Any response after May 15 will not receive credit.

I am really looking forward to see this advanced film productions!!
